Work to reroute a water pipeline to continue service while the County of Orange replaces Silverado Canyon Bridge 174.
Irvine Ranch Water District contractors will be doing work to reroute a water pipeline to continue service while the County of Orange replaces Silverado Canyon Bridge 174 (55C-0174), where the existing pipeline is located.
The bridge is located on Silverado Canyon Road between the polo club and community center.
Bridge traffic will be reduced to one lane during all phases of construction, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A temporary water line has been completed and put into service, and the County of Orange is expected to begin work on the bridge in spring of 2026.
To make way for the bridge construction, IRWD contractors will install a water pipeline across Silverado Canyon Road to tie into a new main water line.
The County of Orange will be replacing bridge. (Contact Orange County Public Works at 714-667-8800 for information on the bridge work.)
IRWD contractors will install a new pipeline supported by the new bridge. Remaining pipeline will be abandoned, and a surge relief vault will be demolished.
